California Winter

We are in the "no man's land" of the holiday season-the time between Christmas and New Year's.  Since I don't celebrate Christmas anyways, the holidays seem particularly long to me.

I took some time off for Christmas-had no particular plans, so decided to have a "stay-cation".  It was all well and good, except for the fact that there were about three huge rain storms in the span of four days, so we were forced to stay indoors most of the time.  However, Monday the 24th was a gorgeous blue sky day, so Naomi and I managed to spend some time in the sun with Bambi.

In any case, winter in California feels more like autumn in the Northern parts of the world.  The leaves have finally changed color.  The gingko tree in my parent's front yard is huge and all the leaves are now bright yellow.  I managed to take a pretty photo (plus snazzy Instagram effects) before all the leaves fell for the winter.
